Naidu eyes Rs 30,000 Crore

Chief Minister and soon-to-be grandfather N. Chandra Babu Naidu is leaving no brick unturned to make Seemandhra into Swarnandhra. Naidu is eyeing a whopping Rs 30,000 Crore investments in the truncated Andhra Pradesh. Naidu-led AP government has announced new IT plan for the state for 2014-2020. The main funda for the latest plan is PPP (Public Private Partnership). The objective is to encourage enthusiastic entrepreneurs by granting special subsidies.

Aiming 5 Billion dollars and 4 lakh new jobs, the new policy is to rope in 5000 IT firms. 10 Lakh square feet area is specially to be allocated for this purpose. With the help of PPP, government wants to set up IT Zones, Electronic Hubs, Hardware Parks, and facilitate all the basic facilities, amenities to it through APIIC. For these, government will provide 24×7 hours electricity at subsidized rate and also free them from paying selling taxes. The firms will also be excluded from paying taxes like VAT and Registration. 

As part of the plan, government is coming up to set up 20 Electronic Manufacturing Clusters and will provide 50% special subsidy and all the necessary permissions will be given through a single-window. Government is chalking out plans to elevate Visakhapatnam as Electronic, IT Hub and Kakinada as Hardware Park. At the same time, it is determined to introduce special skill development sessions to hone the skills of students in order to meet industry needs.
