The Andhra Pradesh government deserves all accolades for its timely intervention and action against cyclonic storm Hudhud. Although the damage caused due to the Hudhud is severe for crops, communication system, failing of Radar and electricity, what’s the one point that stuns whole nation and whole world (especially countries like America) is the minimal loss of “human lives”. Despite the winds battered Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts with a speed of 205 Kmph. Yet, with all due respect, only three lives have been lost.
Super thanks to CM Chandra Babu Naidu and his master skills in disaster management. The manner in which Naidu tackled the whole natural calamity is drawing attention globally. However, this is not first-time, Naidu achieved this rare feat.
Back in October 1999, a cyclone, was due to hit Machilipatnam, but it suddenly turned its fury towards Orissa and devastated Cuttak, Puri and other districts. Naidu then swiftly acted and sent AP government’s relief teams. Naidus’ rescue team This team included an expert road-clearing unit, a group of electricians and a team of 50 doctors and 400 paramedics. By the time, Orissa governmet acted, Naidu has revived the normal situation. This made Naidu more popular in Orissa than their then CM Gamang. Back then media widely reported that if Naidu contested from Orissa, he would win with a landslide victory.
With Hudhud in 2014, Naidu once again proved his mettle and knack over tackling calamities. Kudos to Chandra Babu Naidu for his visionary and timely governance which saved thousands of lives in Coastal regions.
