Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao turned to Christians after announcing a series of Muslim appeasement boons. The Chief Minister announced that his government is planning 3% reservations to Christians. A committee under a former High court judge will be formed very soon to study in to the possibilities. He also assured separate grave yards for Christians in every village and town. Few Christian religion heads met KCR and requested for the political upliftment of their community. KCR immediately announced one MLC to whoever proposed by them. This seat will be allotted from the seats to be vacant in March.
KCR also took couple of controversial decisions which are being implemented to put a check on illegal conversion. Going forward, construction of churches in Telangana will not require the permission of the district collectors. KCR also assured that Police will be instructed to safeguard pastors and those who spread the gospel from attacks of other community people. We have seen people beating up Christian missionaries who are involved in forcible conversions on many occasions.
