Actor-politician Murali Mohan is said to be vying up for the most-competitive TTD Chairman post. If reports to be believed Rajahmundry MP Murali Mohan has stepped up lobbying for the post. The other biggie in race is sitting Narasapuram MP Gokarajau Gangaraju who has been consistently contending for the top-job. Mr Gangaraju, member of BJP party, has high-level contacts and putting up pressure on Chandra Babu Naidu.
It may also be recalled that Mr Naidu hinted 7 BJP members will be included in the new governing bodies which led to speculation that Gokaraju Gangaraju will bag the post. Gokaraju Gangaraju’s father Gokaraju Rangaraju had earlier worked as TTD Chairman in 1970s.
With Andhra Pradesh government passing orders on Saturday cancelling all the governing bodies in Temples throughout the State including the existing governing body of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) headed by Kanumuri Bapiraju, the big fight for TTD Chairman post has been widened. Incidentally, Gokaraju Gangaraju happens to be the own brother-in-law of Kanumuri Bapiraju, present TTD Chairman. So this may work against Gokaraju Gangaraju. Let’s see whether Murali Mohan or Gokaraju Gangaraju bag the post.
