Former Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana was arrested and sent to Chanchalguda jail by CBI. He is trying his best to come out on bail and when CBI granted bail for his colleague Minister Dharmana Prasadarao for the same case, it boosted his confidence. When his petition came for hearing yesterday his counsel ripped apart CBI for following double standards. Mopidevi alleged double standards by CBI and cited that when he was sent to jail for granting land for Vanpic port how come CBI did not oppose bail to Dharmana who granted vast land to Vanpic projects.
 

He said that CBI allegations that his decision to grand land was not known to other ministers in the cabinet were totally false. Mopidevi’s counsel cornered CBI with volley of questions and highlighted CBI’s dual standards vis a vis Mopidevi and Dharmana. Court postponed the hearing to some other day. Many onlookers and political observers feel that Mopidevi is seeking equal treatment for him and also Dharmana as both have been fighting the same case. He feels that if he is in jail, Dharmana should also be in jail and vice versa. It has to be seen whether Mopidevi will get bail and meet Dharmana outside jail premises or even Dharmana will soon join him in Chanchalguda jail!
