The shooting down of Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 MH 17, killing all 298 passengers and crew on board, is raising many speculations and doubts. The ill-fated MH 17 which came down at Torez, Ukraine, just 25 miles (40 Km) from Russia border, was on the same flight path of Narendra Modi’s flight path two hours later.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was there to attend BRICS summit, was suppose to travel in the same route on his return to India on Thursday. Soon after the news of tragic crash of MH 17, officials rerouted Modi’s flight. Simply put, the difference between MH 17 flight and Modi’s flight was just two hours and Modi’s flight was two hours behind the former. Modi reached New Delhi on Thursday night safely.
Prima facie says that shooting down of MH 17 could be a “terrorists act”. Both Ukraine and Russia passed the buck. Authorities have ordered for investigation. More details will emerge once investigation is taken up.
