At the moment, all eyes are on the country that will be visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time after assuming the top chair of the country. Many thought that Modi would visit either Japan or China, but the BJP leader is having some surprising plans.
To hold talks regarding bilateral issues and regional collaboration, Modi will be first heading to Himalayan nation Bhutan. It could be observed that recently Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay attended Modi’s oath taking ceremony on May 26 and a short meeting with him. Government sources indicated that our PM’s visit will reflect the importance India gives to its neighbours. So, Bhutan is going to be the first country to receive Narendra Modi as PM of India. After Bhutan, he is likely to visit Brazil to attend the BRICS summit in mid July. BRICS stand for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa summit.
