Ever since Modi government came into existence, there was a widespread belief that the first thing they want to do is kick out UPA appointed governors from office. Though they are not forcibly pushing them out, simply they are not extending tenure of any. But the BJP led NDA is giving priority to ‘experience’ and ‘seniority’ too, just like it happened in Rosaiah’s case.
After stepping down as Andhra Pradesh’s interim-CM, Congress leader Rosaiah went on to become Tamilnadu governor. Though he is politically inactive, his expertise in handling different portfolios at different positions would be an advantage for any given CM of the state he is appointed as governor. Identifying this potential, Narendra Modi is heard taking a call to give him additional charge of Karnataka too as the state’s outgoing governor HR Bhardwaj’s term comes to an end.
As a courtesy call, Rosaiah met PM Modi, President Pranab and Home Minister Rajnath the other day. Though details of his meet are simply termed as just courtesy calls, it seems like Narendra Modi has discussed at large with him about position of various south states including AP and Telangana. Well, this shows Modi’s political acumen as he believes a lot on experience and seniority though Rosaiah is from Congress’ nest.
