It is unlikely that Superstar Rajinikanth will be gracing the historic swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi at the Presidential Palace Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi at 6 PM on Monday.
Apparently, Rajinikanth was one among 5 film stars invited for the ceremony which will be attended by 4,000 guests. Although he thought of making his presence at the event until recently, Rajinikanth dropped his plans after the row over invitation offered to Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa by Modi. The Iconic Actor cites shooting for ‘Lingaa’ in Hyderabad as the reason to skip the ceremony.
The war between Tamil separatist outfit LTTE and Srilankan Government in which Prabhakaran got killed has really hurt the Tamilians. Ever since then, Tamilnadu Government and the people in the neighboring state have been launching protests against Sri Lanka in every possible way. On Monday too, Tamil Groups staged protests in National capital against the visit of Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Tamilnadu CM Jayalalithaa and DMK President Karunanidhi opposed the invite to Mahinda Rajapaksa. Even Jaya decided to boycott Modi swearing-in ceremony Today in protest.
