After giving a thousand dates for the release of the movie, poor YVS Chowdary somehow managed to get ‘Rey’ released.  He entirely banked on the fans of the mega-family to make the movie a success.

For this purpose, he included a song on ‘Pawanism’ on the anniversary of ‘Jana Sena’ launch and released the songs of the movie on Ram Charan’s birthday.  All these ploys by Chowdary notwithstanding, there has been a lukewarm response to Rey in theaters.

The movie has seen only about 40% occupancy on its best days even in Band C centers.  The frequent postponement has obviously resulted in loss of interest in the project among the public.  However, fans of Pawan Kalyan argue that the 40% attendance was solely by mega fans and Chowdary should thank them for that.
