Yesterday, the 93rd birth anniversary of NT Ramarao, the erstwhile acting legend, founder president of TDP and the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, was celebrated by not just his diehard fans but also by a long list of celebrities from the entire spectrum of the society. Joining the celebrations bandwagon is the Telugu media, which carried numerous reports and special programs on the man who was considered a messiah of the masses.

While, fans from film and political worlds along with the family members of NTR offered their floral tributes to the legend who is still revered as a beacon of Telugu pride, it was media’s unflinching enthusiasm in remembering and paying tributes to NTR, that amused everyone. Several news shows even vouched for the prestigious Bharat Ratna for NTR, along with the AP CM Chandrababu who also said that the coveted national honour must be bestowed upon NTR.

It is indeed heartening to see the media, along with the fans, still remembering NTR through its extensive coverage. This will act as a ray of enlightenment to the present and future generations to be aware of the great man’s legacy. Born in 1923, NTR breathed his last in the year 1996, after an illustrious career in both films and politics and continues to be a source of inspiration to millions of Teluguites across the globe.
