After the TRS and Telangana govt it is now the turn of the Maoists to protest against the ordinance issued by the centre to include the areas in Khammam district affected by submergence under the Polavaram project.
Rumours are afloat that Telangana govt is keen to hold talks with Maoists and also rescind the ban on CPI(Maoists) and 6 other front organisations which will lapse by August 15 this year. Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has already announced that he will invite the Maoist leaders for talks if they want to join mainstream of society and promote development of Telangana, which is one of their gails.
Wall posters issued by the Maoists made their presence, early on Tuesday in Khammam, Kothagudem, Bhadrachalam etc protesting and demanding for the cancellation of the ordinance and to include 136 villages of 7 mandals of Bhadrachalam areas back into Telangana state.
The NDA led centre had issued ordinance of inclusion of 7 mandals that are considered as the areas of submergence during their first ever cabinet meeting. The first session of Telangana state assembly unanimously passed a resolution against the ordnance and the Andhra Pradesh assembly also passed a resolution seeking that the ordinance be made into an Act at the earliest.
