With general elections (for both Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha) fast approaching, political equations in Andhra Pradesh, especially in Seemandhra, are swiftly changing. Political parties are ditching their differences to drub incumbent Congress.

Going by reliable sources, anti-Congress political parties are joining their forces and likely to form as one platform- Maha Kutami 2 (Grand Alliance). Telugu Desam Party, which is going to elections on the plank of development of Seemandhra and Telangana, may possibly lock an alliance with BJP for the progress of both States. Since BJP and TDP are former friends, this alliance seems to be . And the two new political parties to join this bandwagon is Lok Satta and Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party. While Lok Satta is strictly committed to clean politics and combat against corruption, Pawan Kalyan’s sole aim is to rout Congress and make Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. Top sources confided that Pawan Kalyan already met TDP supremo twice before meeting Modi. It’s evident that Maha Kutami 2 is on cards.

Coming to seat sharing among Maha Kutami, it’s a cake walk. Since Pawan is not so keen on holding power and contesting polls in many seats and Lok Satta, BJP in Seemandhra has no strong cadre like TDP so there may not be much competition for seats. Whereas in Telangana, TDP and BJP might face few issues but they could be easily sorted out.

“Left” parties and Jagan’s YSR Congress may strike alliance to compete with Maha Kutami 2. However, there is no buzz about Kiran Kumar Reddy’s newly floated Jai Samaikyandhra Party. “This is a historical movement as most political parties in State want Congress to be thrown out. Anti-Congress wave is riding high throughout the nation. And it reached to saturation point in Seemandhra which was its bastion earlier,” stated senior political analyst. If all goes well, we’re soon going to watch Maha Kutami 2.
