According to grapevine, leading Telugu entertainment channel MAA TV is set for sale. Buzz is that Chiranjeevi, Allu Arvind, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Nimmagadda Prasad, who have majority stakes in the channel, are reportedly contemplating to sell it. Although there are no strong confirmation, rumours are rife that the channel is put up for sale.
The value of the channel is said to be estimated at humongous Rs 1800 Crore. Recently, the channel swung to the top position with his superhit game show Mee Lo Evaru Koteeswarudu hosted by Nagarajuna. Touted to be most sought-after TV programme in recent times, it swept the TRP ratings and rake in moolah for the channel. The new season of the show is going to start soon and registrations are underway. Amidst this craze, it needs to be seen why the channel’s owners are mulling over to sell this profitable firm.
