The first CM of truncated state of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu has initiated steps to “restore” faith among the Vizagites and given a call saying, “Let’s win Cyclone”. Mr Naidu has participated in a candle light rally from Pandurangapuram to Kalimatha temple to instill confidence among the denizens of Vizag. Soon after the rally, Naidu addressed a gathering on the Beach Road, where he said that Cyclonic storm Hudhud will not have a “lasting impact” and assured that “we’re going to overcome this phase soon”.
Naidu made it clear that Huhud would not have any affect on the “brand image” of Vizag city and vowed to rebuild the city in more “lively”, “beautiful” and “resilient” manner considering the future needs of the city. Naidu also said that Narendra Modi-led Union Government is ready to offer helping hand to the State.
“The support and strong determination of Vizagites in the difficult times doubled my confidence level and our government would definitely fulfill the strong desire of Vizagites to make Vizag a financial and industrial hub and smart city,” said Mr Naidu with an emotional touch. Some of the problems such as total power restoration and a few others in the city are yet to be solved. However, people have gained confidence that all problems will be solved soon, Mr Naidu added.
Lauding the authorities of various departments for their efforts to restore normalcy in Vizag within a short period, Mr Naidu said they will be holding another meeting on October 12, 2015 (exactly a year after cyclone Hudhud) on beach road to review the progress of Vizag. The Chief Minister appealed Vizagites and officials to continue the support till Vizag is rebuilt. Union Minister Venkaiaha Naidu also participated in the rally and he said, “I am saluting Vizagites for their brave heart and overcoming this trauma.”
