After facing a crushing defeat in recent held polls, the former and last CM of Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy is all set to bounce back. With his own Jai Samaikyandhra Party and his ‘mother’ patry Congress routed in elections, returning to Congress does not seem to be the sound option for cricketer-politician. Kiran is now contemplating to join BJP, going by highly reliable sources.
Buzz is that Kiran was reluctant to join BJP fold and even negotiate with its top brass, as he is of the opinion that BJP played its part in the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. But Kiran Reddy’s brothers, who are his closest advisors, have persuaded him that joining the BJP is the best option available to revive his political career. Now Kiran and his closest brothers are chalking out a plan to make a way for Chittoor leader into BJP. There are two options for Kiran, according to reports. One is through a Gujarar-based major business group that is close to PM Narendra Modi and the second is through some BJP links in Bangalore, Karnataka.
Kiran apparently has good rapport with the business group. He had entered into an MoU with the business group to invest Rs 5000 Crore in State to develop an industrial park and port in the East Coast when he was the Chief Minister. Kiran had tried his best to allot land to the business group between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam but Kakinada Sea Ports management played spoil sport and claimed that the land being considered for the allotment belongs to them.
In between, Kiran had resigned as CM yet it is learnt that he is “still in touch” with the business firm. The other route too looking vibrant as Kiran’s brothers are based in Bangalore and operates a real estate, construction company and they’ve good connections with BJP leaders there. Meanwhile, Kiran too moved to Bangalore as temporary base to stay out of media glare. Kiran’s brothers are now reportedly holding negotiations with Saffron Party’s leaders. We hear that Kiran had made up his mind to join BJP to resurrect his political career. Kiran joining BJP looks imminent and just matter of time.
