Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu condemned the hate speech of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao on burying those who do not respect Telangana. Speaking to media in Hyderabad, Venkaiah condemned the attempts to saddle media directly or indirectly.
He asked people in responsible position to resort the help of laws instead of violating laws. “I do not know the context in which KCR made such statement. But those are definitely not in good taste. If you have a problem with the news channels, there are rules and there is Press Council to complain. Media always have a place in democracy and it is not advisable to try to stop the voice of press directly or indirectly.
Government should have the patience to hear to press and opposition”, Venkaiah said. On the other side, Media Journalists of banned TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy staged a protest before Raj Bhavan demanding governor to interfere in the issue. Governor had given permission for 5 representatives to come to him and give their representation but Police did not allow them and arrested them. TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy were banned for the last 3 months in Telangana by MSOs of the region.
