Tension is continuing at Chennayapalem village in Macherla mandal of Guntur district for the second day over the land owned by the proposed Saraswati cement factory promoted by YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy. TDP’s Gurajala MPA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao reportedly visited the land on Wednesday where he had condemned the attack on farmers and thundered not to allow Kadapa dadagiri in the Palnadu region.
Local farmers, who had already sold away their land to the cement factory, reportedly started cultivating once again with the alleged support of local TDP leaders. YSRCP activists had earlier damaged the crops arguing that as farmers had sold away their land, they enjoy no legal right.
The TDP MLA claimed that farmers had already taken permission from the management of the factory for cultivation until the cement plant comes up. TDP Leaders have warned that Jagan would be facing the wrath of farmers if he doesn’t allow them to cultivate in the factory-owned land.
