Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy on Friday came up with an interesting demand that the TRS government should move an official resolution to thank AICC president Sonia Gandhi for according Statehood to Telangana despite many obstacles. Speaking in the Assembly, Jana said Sonia Gandhi had faced many obstacles and problems while delivering statehood to the region.
To fulfill the aspirations of the people of the region, the Congress kept its manifesto promise of giving statehood to Telangana, he said. Keeping this in view, the ruling party should feel responsibility to extend thanks to the AICC Chief, Jana Reddy suggested. However, Jana Reddy did not mince words to take on the government for encouraging defections.
The defections being encouraged by the TRS is against the norms of Constitution. He found fault with the TRS for adopting an attitude to provoke the leaders from other parties to jump into the TRS. Jana admitted that there were defections during YSR regime, which he stoutly opposed.
