Jagan Missing from Media?

The leader of Opposition of the truncated Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been missing in action for a while. Although he stated that he and his party would take on incumbent TDP government for its ‘delay’ in implementing free-loan waiver, Jagan didn’t take to battle ground yet. Well, the reasons are manifold.

Ever since the news of Jayalalithaa ‘losing’ her CM post and sent to jail after convicted in Disproportionate Assets’ (DA) case, beleaguered YS Jagan who is facing similar charges is said to be taken aback. Jagan now clearly understood the consequences and hence said to be missing ‘limelight’.

Jagan is said to be feared of his future. Political analysts hence believe that  he is playing it very safe and doesn’t want to seen in media often as it would remind people, media about his quid pro quo methods and amassing crores of unaccountable money. Already Jagan served 16-month prison term allegedly for having DAs and walked out on bail. Reports say that CBI and ED have strong evidences in Jagan’s case and he would be convicted anytime soon. If at all happens, it’d be a severe set back to him and his party at this juncture. Hence, Jagan is said to be buying time and procrastinating the issue by sidelining them.

Meanwhile, Jagan is also not confident that how people would see it if at all he protests against ‘delay’ in free-loan waiver scheme as Jagan himself opposed it during the elections and publicly stated that ‘it’s not possible’. Even if Jagan fights and Chandrababu implements the final credit will only go to TDP but not to Opposition parties although they ‘put’ pressure on government. ‘Masses and people in villages, farmers would only show their gratitude to people who favoured them. This has been the trend. It was proved during YSR’s regime,’ said a top political commentator. Going by all these reasons, Jagan seems to have dropped his anti-government plans for a while.
