YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the list of candidates contesting for Assembly, Lok Sabha constituencies from Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra) on Monday. As expected, Jagan Reddy ditched his own sister Y.S Sharmila who played significant role in mobilizing masses when the former was in jail.
Sharmila’s help during Jagan’s jail term is invaluable and indispensable. Her Maro Praja Prasthanam was a massive success. Jagan reportedly shunned Sharmila fearing that she would steal the show in national media as YSR’s daughter if she is sent to Lok Sabha.
YS Vijayamma has replaced Sharmila and she will be contesting from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha. Given that Vijayamma is total failure as an MLA and she hardly spoke in Assembly, one raises doubt how she manages in Lok Sabha which has members from other states and Hindi, English being most speaking languages. And Sharmila who is young, smart could have been better option. Naturally, there is a dissent in YSR Congress over the unilateral manner of allottment of seats.
