YSR Congress honorary president YS Vijayamma’s defeat in Visakha Lok Sabha Constituency has caused huge embarrassment for YS Jagan and the Party. What were the reasons behind this shameful defeat?

Apparently, YS Jagan fielded Vijayamma in Vizag Lok Sabha fray expecting that it will have a huge impact on the Assembly segments which falls under it and also the neighboring districts. However, This move boomeranged and will remain as a biggest blunder he has ever committed.

According to YSRC Sources, Poor Coordination between the local leaders have led to the defeat of YS Vijayamma. While senior leader Konatala Ramakrishna confined to party activities in Hyderabad, Another seasoned politician Dadi Veerabhadra Rao is busy campaigning for his son Ratnakar who is YSRC candidate from Vizag West.  YSRC candidates and conveners have completely focused on their constituencies as TDP has got a good cadre base. Except for the road shows of Jagan, Sharmila and Vijayamma, Local Leaders weren’t active in this Lok Sabha segment and hence a lot of confusion has been created among the party workers itself.

Analysts say, TDP’s strong cadre, Modi wave and Pawan factor worked in favor of BJP’s nominee Kambhampati Haribabu who won with over 90,000 votes margin. Lack of proper co-ordination between YSRC Leaders and Jagan’s inability to bring the second rung leaders & cadre at grassroots together too played a part.
