Chandra Babu Naidu is widely known for his visionary and progressive thinking. Proving this right again, the tech savvy’ Chief Minister’s highly popular “Vision 2020” is now seems to be back. Mr Naidu is chalking out plans to adopt total “e-governance” in ‘Sunrise Andhra Pradesh’ by 2020. That’s not all. Naidu wants AP to be the best in the country in terms of “e-governance” and we hear that plans are in place.
To start with, the TDP Supremo is going to initiate “e-literacy” in large proportion. He wants at least one person from every household in the State to be an e-literate by 2020. In order to achieve this mammoth feat, Government of Andhra Pradesh is contemplating to tie up with MNCs and going to take its help in revising the curriculum right from school to higher education to technical education. “Syllabus in educational institutions will be rehashed such that it meets the needs of industries. Industry-accredited online courses will soon be introduced in professional colleges. Emphasis would be on human resource development,” authorities corroborated.
A high-ranking team comprising Human Resource Development (Education) Minister and senior officials will be sent to Kerala to observe, study the ongoing e-literacy project. Kerala achieved 100 per cent literacy and has mandated to achieve cent per cent literacy by 2016. IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy stated the state government has already made up its mind to introduce bio-metric system to register attendance in all the educational institutions from primary schools to post graduate colleges in the state.
Going by records, AP government has successfully brought back as many as 24,956 students to school out of 31,286 dropouts identified. We hear that government is firm to bring back remaining 6,330 as well in the next month. The aim of “e-literacy” is bridging the digital divide and creating a level playing platform for all. The e-learning and e-literates will also go a long way in realizing the dream of turning the state into a golden, happy and Sunrise Andhra Pradesh, said a top-level official in chief Misniter’s Office.
Naidu’s focusing more on education, employment as he believes that it will play pivotal, instrumental role in achieving his grand Vision 2020.
