Gone are the days where people used to watch visual effects and computer graphics with a jaw dropping face. They are now accustomed to watching them on regular basis and ‘Graphics Factor’ is not going to help much if Gunasekhar wants to sell his ‘Rudramadevi’ basing on that.
Pulling in huge amounts of funds, Gunasekhar is producing and directing the magnum opus Rudrama Devi that deals with the erstwhile queen of Kakatiya Kingdom, her ruling, adventures and wars. Of late Guna started promoting the movie saying that it has the best of visual effects and computer graphics one has seen on Indian screen so far. Maybe he is right, but Graphics could not hold down audiences to the seats until they are supported by strong story, screenplay and powerful performances of lead actors.
We have seen the flicks like Sahasam, Damarukam, Kodi Ramakrishna’s Avataram and recently Kochadaiyana, where there are plenty of graphics but movies have bitten dust at box-office. This is due to the basic issue of a pale story and lifeless screenplay. This is the thing Gunasekhar should watch out for rather boasting huge about Graphics Factor, which might attract distributors but will not excite audiences until all other factors are fine.
