Ganta Srinivasa Rao began his political career with the TDP and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Anakapalli in 1999. Ganta had won in 2004 Assembly elections from Chodavaram Constituency on TDP ticket. Later he changed his loyalties to Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) and contested from Anakapalle Assembly segment during 2009. After PRP merged into Congress, Ganta was given opportunity to serve as Minister. Post division of AP, Ganta is back to TDP.
Bheemili MLA and senior TDP leader from Visakhapatnam Ganta Srinivasa Rao has taken charge as Education Minister on Wednesday. He was greeted by his cabinet colleagues, Government officials, MLAs and TDP leaders. Ganta, who was also the minister in Kiran Kumar Reddy’s government, had returned to his parent party TDP after Congress gave go ahead for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Ganta had contested from Anakapalle in 2009 on Congress ticket. Ganta managed to bag Bheemili Assembly ticket from TDP and then sitting Bheemili MLA Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao has been moved to Lok Sabha from Anakapalli constituency.
