Looks like Telangana government is dealt with a big blow from the Supreme court. In the hearing of EAMCET Counselling, the apex court had made some stern instructions to the Telangana government. The court ordered KCR’s government to follow the AP Reorganization Act in the nativity and common admission. The court also stated that the President’s order should be strictly followed in terms of nativity.
The nativity clause is a unique feature restricted to just Andhra Pradesh under Article 371D of the Constitution and as prescribed under the Presidential Order. According to which a student will be considered Local to that area where he studies for four years from Sixth standard to Intermediate second year. Telangana government however wants to define those students as natives of Telangana whose families are staying in the region even before 1956.
