The Telugu Desam Party, which was more or less confined to history in the last couple of years has made an impressive comeback in Seemandhra and saved itself from extinction from Telangana even in the presence of a TRS wave.

It is usually said that ten years out of power for a regional party is very disastrous because the morale of the cadre cannot be boosted by any other victories, as they are not national parties.

And sources say that TDP is the first regional party which had stayed out of power for ten years but again managed to comeback even after being written off. Till date, TDP also holds the record of being the single largest opposition party in the entire nation.

It was widely said that in case TDP doesn’t win now, the cadre may literally disintegrate as they were in no mood to be out of power for five more years. Again history has proved otherwise after poll results which have now pushed TDP into power!
