As expected, YSR Congress chief Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally voted in favour of director Puri Jagannadh. Surprised? Well, the news is Jagan Reddy has confirmed the Narsipatnam (Vizag rural) Assembly Constituency to Puri Jagannadh’s brother Petla Umashankar Ganesh on Tuesday evening.
Although, there has been reports that Jagan is in favour of Umashankar for a while, recent developments in YSR Congress in Narsipatnam has created a doubt over Uma’s candidature. Sitting Congress MLA Bolem Muthyala Papa quit Congress and joined YSRCP 4 days ago in the presence of Jagan Mohan Reddy raising many speculations. Talk had it that Jagan might give ticket to him. But clearing all the doubts, Jagan finally gave ticket to Puri’s brother.
Given that Jagan Reddy and his family share great bond with director Puri Jagannadh’s family and Vijayamma too stayed in Puri’s house during her visit to Narsipatnam, Jagan Mohan Reddy is of the opinion that Puri’s family is loyal to him ever since he floated YSRCP. So, Jagan don’t want to take chances and allotted ticket to Puri’s brother. It may be recalled that Jagan himself present at the half-saree ceremony of Puri’s daughter Pavithra. Earlier there was also buzz that Puri Jagannadh’s wife Lavanya was also aspiring ticket from YSR Congress which were later put off by Puri’s family.
Ayyanna Patrudu from TDP is likely to lock horns with Umashankar Ganesh in Narsipatnam. Now, we have to wait and watch whether Puri Jagannadh steps in to campaign for Jagan Reddy and his brother Umashankar Ganesh. Stay tuned for more developments.
