It seems, the upcoming path-breaking film “Manam” looks have even enticed distributors in a big way. Apart from becoming India’s second film with three generations of a same family (Hindi film Kal Aaj Aur Kaul of Raj Kapoor being India’s first film starring three generation stars of same clan) and setting a new record, the film’s business prospects are looking bright and prosperous. Even though recent films of Nagarjun and Naga Chaitanya failed to set box office on fire, but distributors of Andhra and overseas are showing keen interest since they believe that teaming up of ANR, Nag and Chaitanya would draw huge openings and subsequently even family audience would join in to make it a money-spinner. And given that director Vikram Kumar’s debut Ishq was a box office hit, distributors are hoping that his magic would work once again.
“Come and enjoy holidays’ season with us” says Nag in commercials and planning to distribute in some areas on his own. “The hype around the film created lot of buzz in the trade circles, with fancy offers like Telangana (10 crores), Andhra, Krishna, East and West (12 crores), Ceded (3 croers) and overseas (2.5 crores) but deals haven’t finalised yet” says a source. May be luck factor of production house Reliance Entertainements, whose last relase “Atharintiki”’ was a blockbuster, is set for another hit it seems. Let’s wait till May 23 as the movie is due for release.
