Hyderabad: Ram Gopal Varma has once again created controversy by announcing that he would be making a film titled Savitri. But given the public furore over the poster he released and the title he chose to use, Varma backed off and announced that he will now name his film Sridevi. But like all Varma films in the recent past, the film is already mired in controversy with different sections of people demanding that Varma must stop making films to titillate the masses.
APPRTU president Kamalakar Rao and chief secretary Apparao have strongly condemned Varma’s latest announcement and point out that if each and every thought a person gets is made into a film, then the guidelines, rule and regulations will have no relevance. They advised that Varma must give up the thought of making his film for the larger good and subtly hinted that Varma must refrain from making a film that would instigate base desires in youth.
It is a known fact that after making some successful commercial entertainers in the past, Varma chose the path to cater to the basic instincts of human nature by making several low-budget films one after the other.
