Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is proud of his Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes but ex-minister Shabir Ali has criticised the scheme. Ali said KCR doesn’t even have a clue on how the Shaadi Mubarak scheme works. His principal secretary has advertised in the paper calling for applications for Shaadi Mubarak scheme but the website link does not even work and because of this not even one application has been filed.
Ali also said a minister said 40,000 marriages will be performed and only four months are left, even if all Muslims in the Telangana state marry also that number will not be reached. He crticised KCR for allotting 21 Lakhs for the scheme.
“If Poor people believes in KCR words and do marriages and if they don’t receive the promised Rs 51,000 then all marriages lead to divorces. If the girls are sent back to their parents or faces divorce due to non-payment of money under the scheme, then I will take all those girls to stage a protest in KCR’s house,” warned Shabir Ali. He also alleged KCR of not having the knowledge of governance and slammed him for making false promises as done during agitations.
