No doubt, director Dasari Narayana Rao was once a top director and had ruled the industry with successive hits. But that phase is passe and the director’s previous films (Young India, Parama Veera Chakra, Erra Bus) were debacles at the Box Office. But he hasn’t seem to have come out of his previous image yet and hasn’t seem to have learned the reality yet.
His one such statement while expressing grief on Jayalalithaa’s demise is inviting flak on social platforms. Dasari has also recalled his association with Jaya and shared that she calls him as Annayya and his wife Padma as Vadina. He goes on saying that how she often invited them to her house for lunch and even said that he was the only director who was allowed to shoot inside Jayalalithaa’s house Poes Garden where he had shot for four films of him and said Jaya used to send food for all the unit members during the shooting days. Dasari also said that Jaya was supposed to act in his film Kanyakumari but later couldn’t due to dates issues.
While all these were fine, he stated that Jaya had called him as “Best Director in India” and given him a silver memento at the launch of MGR Studio. Many are wondering whether his self-promotion at Jaya’s condolence is necessary?
