Till date, ace producer Dil Raju is being openly criticized for not giving support to Telangana filmmakers and their demands. As the shout to divide AP Film Chamber of Commerce into two is growing large, our producer has finally opened up.
‘All these people who are agitating are having personal agenda, but not any agenda for common development. Already we have Telangana chamber of commerce and AP Film Chamber. So let us come up with Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce’, says Dil Raju, who is inclined towards changing name of AP Film Chamber to Telugu Film Chamber. ‘Cinema is a business and nobody wants to lose money. For development of cinema in Telangana we have to come up with acting schools and develop people. Without thinking this all these agitators are simply pointing fingers at me’, he adds, saying that directors like Harish Shankar and Vamsi Paidipally who are introduced by him are from T-region only.
Also Dil Raju has come up with clarity about the number of lease theatres he is having in hand, with small-film makers accusing that ‘big four’ are not letting them get theatres. ‘I’ve just 22 theatres under my control in Hyderabad. If government decides to scrap lease system, I’m ready to accept it and sign it on’, Dil Raju asserts, pointing out that lease system is no big deal.
