With the sudden postponement of the release of Jigarthanda (Chikkadu Dorakadu in Telugu), film’s lead protagonist Siddharth vent out his anger and blamed producer Kathiresan. Sid lashed out at producer for “not informing” about film’s postponement in prior to lead cast, crew, he said “someone” was behind the incident.
Reacting to it, producer Kathiresan openly made it clear that he has done it for the long-run of Dhanush’s film ‘Velaiilla Pattadhari’. Kathiresan said, “To get more number of theatres, as per the request of theatres’ owners, Jigarthanda has been postponed for a week. Many in trade feel that this will help the movie. Theatres’ owners wanted to continue Dhanush’s Velaiilla Pattadhari which is running successfully all over the week.”
Tipped to be a musical gangster story, the film featuring Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon, is directed by Pizza director Karthik Subbaraj. The film was supposed to release on July 20. Now, the film will be hitting screens on August 1. The Telugu version will be released later.
