Baba Ramdev, a world renowned spiritual leader and the face of the fastest growing Patanjali Group, has stunned the world by revealing that he was once denied a US visa for being a bachelor and not having a bank account.

Speaking at the Global Investor Summit in Indore, which was also attended by the likes of industrialists Anil Ambani and Gopichand Hinduja, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Baba Ramdev made this surprising revelation.Baba said that when he applied for a US visa for the first time, he was denied citing bachelorhood and lack of bank account as reasons. He, however, did not reveal the year in which he had applied for US visa.

‘Later, when they invited me to address the United Nations programme in New York, they granted a 10-year visa to me’, Baba said. He also said that spiritual leaders must be treated as global citizens.
