Mother Nature is all set to unleash her fury once again. Disaster response teams are quickly arriving in Andhra Pradesh, while Army and Air Force also are also offering support as the State is gearing up to meet the threat of cyclone Hudhud. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has said that the Centre is sending four teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
The latest reports indicate that the cyclone would be crossing north Andhra Pradesh coast and may be hitting Visakhapatnam directly on Sunday Afternoon. Babu is now reviewing the State’s preparedness in disaster management and for setting up relief camps and evacuating people from areas facing the cyclone threat, including launching health camps for continuous power supply.
The region is yet to recover from Cyclone Phalin last year during the same time when lives were saved due to evacuation but the cash crops of North Andhra were completely perished even as Odisha then took the brunt.
