One of the unanimous demands of Andhra Pradesh people from a long time is that one of the districts in the state should be renamed after legendary actor and successful politician, statesman NT Rama Rao. News is being heard that this dream will be realized very soon.
Residue AP state is all set to get few more districts and constituencies in accordance with the AP State Reorganization act 2014. Officials have already shared that the existing 175 constituencies will be increased to 225, while district count will be augmented to 25 rather the existing 13 districts. Three districts are now competing to get NTR’s name. With NTR being born in Krishna District, many are of the opinion that his native district should be named after him. Calling that NTR got his political stardom after contesting from Hindupuram, Anantapuram district locals are demanding their district to be named after him. Keeping these two aside, Guntur based TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao is demanding that Guntur district should be named after ‘Anna NTR’.
With Nandamuri Balakrishna representing Hindupur in assembly, many feel that Anantapur got all the chances to be renamed as ‘NTR District’. But we have to see what call AP CM Naidu will take once the reorganisation and creation of new districts is wrapped up.
