The absence of Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, aftermath of pipeline blast of GAIL in Nagaram of East Godavari district, has set tongues wagging in social and political circles. Although it is Pawan’s prerogative whether to visit the blast site/victims or not, political observers opine that Pawan’s presence could have brought more attention to issue, victims’ problems.

From Central Ministers to AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu to opposition leader YS Jagan to Congress leaders Raghuveera Reddy and finally even Pawan’s own brother Konidela Chiranjeevi too made their presence at the blast site. Of course, Chiranjeevi and Raghuveera Reddy had tough time and bore the brunt of locales and came back with bad experience and that’s different story altogether.

But the very fact that Pawan Kalyan was absent might send signals that his political party Jana Sena Party is not politically active. This is likely to have its share of affects on the survival of party in the long run. It’s high time Pawan should turn up at such disasters and should stand out for the helpless victims.
