Senior IAS Officer IYR Krishna Rao who is currently serving as the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration has been named as the Chief Secretary-designate for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister-designate Chandrababu Naidu preferred Rao who belongs to Andhra Pradesh cadre and 1979 Batch over other seniors who were in race.Union Government will be issuing the formal orders soon to enable Krishna Rao to take charge from June 2nd which is the Appointed Day. On Saturday, He even met Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan to discuss on few issues.
IYR Krishna Rao missed the chance to be the last Chief Secretary of United AP with Centre deciding to continue exciting CS Mohanty in the post for 4 more months as he has already begun the work of bifurcation. However, Mr. Rao will now be the first Chief Secretary of successor state of AP. Krishna Rao served as Nalgonda and Khammam district collector in the past. He also held crucial posts like Finance, Revenue, Agriculture and TTD Board Executive Officer.
