Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu has met a delegation from North America Telugu Society (NATS) today.
The team lead by NATS president, Gangadhar Desu, today met the and appraised them of the service to Telugus in US and North America in case of emergencies and other services . NATS had donated Rs.52 lakh in LIC Bonds to an Indian student Abhinay Reddy’s family after he drowned in the swimming pool in the US. He was an MS student at the Indiana University.
The organization has also set up a helpline service for Telugus, 18888-483-5848, in need of help. NATS has been supportive in providing medical insurance for students and has set up 23 medical camps in 16 cities of North America.
The organization has also donated $80,000 to Harshita who succumbed to leukemia. Apart from these services, the organization has also developed two Telugu fonts – namely NATS and NTR code for people.
