Not many are aware that Rakul Preet Singh was the first choice opposite Naga Chaitanya in Autonagar Surya. Rakul was approached for the role way back then and she was said to be happy to do the role. But in a rude shock, she was replaced in the film. For unknown reasons, Samantha had been cast in her place opposite Chaitu.
“I have lost many films due to the clash of dates. But in my early stage of career, I was actually replaced in Naga Chaitanya’s Autonagar Surya. I felt bad then,” shared Rakul.
As Rakul herself admitted that she was replaced in the film, speculations are rife that Chaitu could had been behind this as she would be seeing Samantha by then. Sam and Chaitu acted in Ye Maya Chesave. Although Autonagar Surya released after the couple’s Manam, the shoot of the film started before Manam itself.
Since Nag too stated that Chaitu and Sam had off-screen romantic moments during shooting of Manam which his dad Nageswara Rao and he didn’t notice then, it could be possible that both Sam and Chaitu were seeing before Autonagar Surya.
Move over from Sam and Chaitu’s love story. Rakul has finally paired up with Chaitu in his next film. Yet to be titled, the movie directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala of Soggade Chinni Nayana fame is said to be on the lines of Ninne Pelladatha. It’s learnt that the film is a romantic entertainer and Chaitu will be seen delivering dialogues in native village slang which is expected to be interesting.
