People of Telangana are in tears and many expected that they are still shedding happy tears as tears of joy rolled out from their eyes after realising their 60years dream of having a separate state of Telangana.
However it is coming out people of Telangana are not shedding happy tears but reason being costly onions. They are shocked to see subsidised onions disappearing from rythu bazaars and at many places onion prices sky rocketed to Rs 40 per kg within hours.
Traders predict that the onions may shoot to Rs 75-100Rs/ Kg as production fell down drastically due to drought and not so conducive weather conditions. To the top of it supplies from neighboring Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra came down by 50%.
Harish Rao, Marketing Minister held meeting yesterday held meeting and asked officials to visit Maharashtra and other neighboring states to make procurements. The question is can Harish Rao wipe the tears of Telangana people.
