In a few days, the long cherished dream of KCR to be the Chief Minister of his brand new State will fructify. He realized very early in his political career that it would be impossible for him to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. So he settled on a lower goal and fought very hard for the creation of a small State, and thanks to his capacity to mesmerize Sonia Gandhi he was able to make her commit hara-kiri. One wonders whether, with even much less struggle he could have ruled the united AP as its Chief Minister, but well, his vision is low.
He made several promises and he has to fulfill them. He said that he would make all slums in the twin cities as good as Banjara Hills. We look forward to the fruition of that promise, early. He said that in stretches like Sultan Bazaar and Ameerpet, the Metro Rail tracks should go underground. This is an excellent solution and we had been hoping that the government would ensure the move underground. It has not happened so far, and with the motor of that proposal coming to power now, it is hoped that he will implement it.
Another area where the new government headed by KCR should look into is the congestion in and around Secunderabad Railway station area. In Bangalore, the Metro Rail tracks have gone under the Bangalore Railway station – an excellent solution. Hope that in Secunderabad the government would emulate Bangalore.
Another area where the new government should show enthusiasm is the Metro Rail connectivity to the Airport, It was rumored that bowing to vested interests, the Airport has not been served with rail connectivity. Now I think that it would be most appropriate for the new government to look into this. Also, if rail connectivity to the Airport materializes, instead of spoiling the beauty of the airport, the metro/rail station should go underground in the airport
