Pay by cash or card or even online.The party wants donations of between Rs 10 and Rs 1000 and receipts will be SMS ed and emailed, says the social media chief of BJP Venkayya Naidu who accepted the first donation of BJP chief Rajnath Singh of Rs 1000 to kick off the ‘one-note, one vote’ campaign.BJP leaders stoutly deny that the party is aping the one-year-old Aam Aadmi Party’s hugely successful door-to-door campaigns.They insist that it is an old Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS practice to raise funds this way. The RSS is the BJP’s ideological mentor.

The flurry of poll-related activity today is a prelude to a three-day meet of the BJP’s national executive beginning Friday. Rajnath Singh was in Hyderabad during last week end to participate in a high voltage meet of the RSS to earn its support for the 2014 polls.

Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party had raised Rs.19 crore for the Delhi elections while the Congress party had declared a kitty of Rs 35 crore and the BJP of 24 crores. For the 2014 general elections, the fund raising has commenced in all parties.
