Mumbai cricketer Vinod Kambli is in the news again after a Dombivli bank issued an advertisement in a leading Marathi daily on Saturday, labeling him and his wife defaulters.
The advertisement labels Kambli and his second wife and former model Andrea Vinod Kambli defaulters and alleges that they have not paid the dues to the banks despite repeated requests.
“Kambli had taken housing and vehicle loans from the bank. He paid a few installments initially and then stopped. When one of our employees went to his house in September 2010 to request him to pay dues his wife slapped the employee and also filed a non-cognizable complaint against him,” said a senior official from Dombivli Nagari Sahakari (DNS) Bank.
The ad solicited public cooperation and requested readers to inform the bank if they have any information and details regarding the properties owned by Kambli family so that they could take legal recourse and get attachment.
