As stated before, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu released the first “White Paper” (Swetha Patram) briefing the people on the power status of the successor state. In an effort to publicise and spread awareness among people on the ground realities in the post bifurcation scenario in the state, Babu released the white paper and kept his word.
Chandra Babu stated that power generation in the state had shot up by 90 percent i.e., from 5640 MW to 10,695 MW (almost 90 percent) after bringing power sector reforms between 1996-2004. However during last 10 years of congress rule power sector had increased only 56 % i.e from 10, 695 MW to 16.915 MW, he said. The 15 page white paper detailed the power crisis in AP after the bifurcation and challenges involving in meeting the needs as the resources like Coal, Water in Telangana while the power plants are located in AP.” The mismatch has led to huge disparity and shortfall of electricity in both the states,” Naidu reasoned.
Chandra Babu said his government will release white papers in five other sectors – irrigation, health, education, industry and transport, which play pivotal role in development and transformation of Seemandhra into Swarnandhra. With his first White Paper, Babu nailed at 10-year-rule of Congress government including YSR’s regime. Let’s see how Jagan and YSR Congress react to it now.
