The city of Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh is famous for the river Godavari and also for the Pushkaralu which happen once in twelve years. Now, one of the ghats along the river side is becoming the centre of attention. There are few Ghats for Pushkars and the Hindus use them for having their holy baths during auspicious seasons.

During the period of former government, one Pushkar Ghat was written to a church and it happened in the regime of local MP from Congress Undavalli Arunkumar. Questions are being raised on why such an arrangement was done. Though India is a secular country issues will crop up when it comes to religious sentiments and beliefs.

Reports reveal that the BJP and Bajrang Dal is taking this very seriously as they feel prevention is better than cure. Sometimes, such issues are also manipulated by elements with vested interests and innocents will become victims in a religious conflict. Let us hope things get resolved soon in a peaceful manner.
