In the process of building the new state of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled the Blueprint for IT, Electronics and e-Governance envisaging the strategies, targets and corresponding timelines to be achieved by the state by 2020.
Vision of this blueprint is to develop AP as an Innovation Society of global repute with a focus on enhancing the quality of life of its citizens, through high-quality education and healthcare, increased productivity in agriculture and allied activities, creation of employment by promoting Electronics and IT and above all, by providing Good Governance.
AP IT Minister Dr Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh has been envisioned as The Sunrise State, owing to the great opportunities it would pose in the IT, ITeS, Electronics and allied industries.
Accordingly, three missions have been identified, namely, Electronics & IT Mission, Innovation & Capacity Building Mission and e-Governance Mission highlighting about 18 Policies & Frameworks for the growth of IT industry in the State.
Electronics policy target is to attract investments up to Rs.50, 000 Crores that may create an employment of about 4 lakh people in state setting up 20 Electronic Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) and 200 industries across the state.
Innovation & Capacity Building Mission targets at least One Entrepreneur and One IT Literate from Each Household. There is a need to develop the entrepreneurial skills among the students. So, they are planning to start up village with 100 Incubation centers and 5000 start ups/entrepreneurs.
Importance to update the current course curriculum in the technical institutes in the state to match the industry needs is also discussed. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu indicated that a committee be formed in concurrence with the Higher Technical Education Department to study and understand the global requirements of industry and recommend the necessary changes in the course curriculum.
Naidu directed the Department to bring Electronics Policy and Innovation & Start-up Policy at the earliest and start working on attracting investments into the State.
