Akkineni Akhil played a brief, but crucial role in ‘Manam’ movie starring ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. The character comes in climax and changes entire scenario. Akhil shared his experience working in the film and sharing screen space with family members especially grandfather ANR.
Akhil said, “Working on sets on first day, I sat in caravan and waiting for my turn. My hand was bit shivering and butterflies were all over my stomach. I was calling Vikram for every 2 minutes and he was explaining the scene consistently. After 3-4 attempts, he simply told me that, ‘calm down amma… everything will be fine.’ So, I was ready for the shot.
Two points I have to make. I don’t have a word to describe the amount of nervousness I was going through. And the other I can’t explain the amount of excitement I had. When I was walking from makeup room to the sets for my first shot, it was like a one hour journey.
Working with my grandfather… I was eagerly waiting for the moment that I see my grandfather in action with me onscreen. It was a beautiful experience and I don’t think I will never get that experience again.
In fact, Vikram had the idea of casting me in the movie. He called my dad one day and asked him whether I would act in the film. Then, Nanna came to me and asked me whether I would do the role. I was like no words to describe, and went to meet Vikram to discuss about the character. He narrated my part to me. If my character was not there, the climax won’t finish. That’s what game me happiness.”
Meanwhile, Akhil has plans of new film and details will be announced soon in a week days.
