The Andhra Pradesh government is now in “damage” control mode. In an attempt to win the hearts of people of Rayalaseema, State government has increased its efforts to woo investors in Rayalaseema region especially in Kurnool, Anantapur and Chittoor.

The latest buzz is AP Govt. has laid out a plan to set up Mega City near Tirupati in around 5000 Acre. With a world-class infrastructure and facilities like top educational universities, super-specialty hospitals, sports stadiums, amusement parks etc. Already officials have recognised 5000 acre forest land near Kalyani Dam in Tirupati.

Naidu directed the forest department authorities to write to the Centre requesting to denotify the land. He also told them to inform the Centre that the state government will allot another 5000 acre of land elsewhere to the forest department as part of the compensation.

Mr Naidu, however, doesn’t want the financial burden of the project to entirely fall on the state government. Instead, he wants Public Private Partenrship (PPP) where private players come forward in this project.
